Brian Gudmundson concentrates his practice on complex litigation and commercial class actions, including the areas of RICO, Antitrust, Securities, Healthcare, and Consumer Litigation. Brian represents individuals, businesses, and public and private institutional clients in a variety of complex cases.
At present, Brian represents retired National Football League players in an action against the NFL for the unauthorized use of former players' identities to generate revenue for the League. In addition, Brian currently represents individuals subjected to improper arbitration practices before the National Arbitration Forum and individuals improperly steered to MetLife financial products. Brian specializes in claims under the RICO Act and currently represents multiple investors in RICO claims arising from the $3.5 billion Petters Ponzi scheme, as well as representing Taft-Hartley funds in a RICO action against Eli Lilly for fraudulent sales of the drug Zyprexa. In 2005, Brian was part of a securities litigation team that achieved a $2.5 billion settlement against AOL-Time Warner on behalf of investors.
Brian graduated cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he was a faculty research assistant and a member of the Dean's List with an A Average. He also received the Minnesota Justice Foundation's public service award. Brian is admitted to the state courts of Minnesota, the U.S. District Courts for the District of Minnesota, the Northern District of Illinois and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.
