Carlson Wagonlit Travel Counselors / Call Center Employees
Zimmerman Reed is investigating cases where travel counselors or agents who have worked in call centers were required by their employer to work before and after scheduled shifts as well as during unpaid lunch breaks, without compensation. Many call centers require employees to report before their scheduled shift starts to boot up their computers and databases, locate client contacts lists, and other similar tasks that are necessary to the beginning of the workday. In addition, many call center employees have to remain on the phone during breaks, and after shifts, in order to do their jobs--but are not paid for these tasks. These practices usually violate the Fair Labor Standards Act and many state employment laws.
