MINOT TRAIN DERAILMENT CHECKS MAILED TODAY

MINNEAPOLIS, MN: Zimmerman Reed law firm has confirmed that settlement checks are being mailed today to individuals who qualify for payment in the class action settlement stemming from the January 2002 Canadian Pacific derailment and anhydrous ammonia spill more than six years ago. U.S. District Chief Judge Daniel Hovland approved the class action settlement in November of last year.

Gordon Rudd, an attorney for the class said, “The majority of qualifying individuals will receive approximately $1,300; individuals who signed a release with the railroad claims office before February 18, 2002, prior to retaining an attorney, will receive slightly less.” Minot residents should watch for the settlement checks in the mail. They will be in windowed envelopes from the Minot Train Derailment Claims Administrator. Checks will be voided if they are not cashed within 90 days.
