Randy Hopper is special counsel at Zimmerman Reed. Mr. Hopper's practice focuses on complex civil litigation and government relations, with an emphasis on public policy and legislation. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Hopper held numerous positions in the public and private sectors including: work on a White House - sponsored urban education program in inner city Atlanta and New York City; a Manager of Public Affairs for the Cummins Engine Company; Director of State Development Planning for the State of Minnesota; Advisor on an economic development program serving Minnesota Governor Al Quie; and Finance Director for the successful Ramstad for Congress Campaign.
Mr. Hopper has been a member of the adjunct faculty at William Mitchell College of Law, teaching Corporate Ethics and Advising Corporate Clients. He also has chaired the Minnesota Institute of Legal Education's CLE "Dealing with the Media in High Profile Cases" seminar which has included among its faculty, an extensive list of national and regional journalists from the print and electronic media, as well as prominent attorneys involved in legal issues with broad media coverage in high profile cases.
Mr. Hopper recently received the Accomplished Alumni Award from the University of Tennessee. He also delivered a speech to students and faculty at the Howard H. Baker, Jr. Center for Public Policy.
Randy is admitted to practice in Minnesota and several Federal Courts including the United States District Courts for the Districts of Minnesota; Arizona; the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals; and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, as well as the United States Supreme Court.
