Breast Implants Product Liability Litigation
Zimmerman Reed filed the first class action lawsuit in the United States against breast implant manufacturers. Since that time, the firm has successfully resolved claims on behalf of hundreds of injured women across the country. The complaints filed against the implant manufacturers asserted claims in strict liability, negligence, fraud and design and manufacturing defects.
The United States District Court appointed Zimmerman Reed as co-liaison counsel for the State of Minnesota. In addition, Charles S. Zimmerman served as Chairman of the Creditors Committee in the Bioplasty Bankruptcy Proceedings. Mr. Zimmerman also served as a member of the Settlement Advisory Committee for the Global Settlement reached between Plaintiffs and implant manufacturers. We continue to represent individuals who opted out of the Revised Global Settlement and elected to pursue their claims individually. In addition, we currently represent hundreds of women who allege they have injuries caused by Dow Corning Corporation implants, the case is pending before the United States Bankruptcy Court in Michigan.
