LIFE TIME FITNESS LAWSUIT
A proposed class action lawsuit has been filed on behalf of Life Time Fitness members holding Founder's, Legacy and Heritage memberships. The lawsuit challenges Life Time's decision to block full and complete access to all of its health club facilities for these members unless they paid for for an "upgraded" membership. The complaint alleges that at relevant times, Life Time sold Founder's, Legacy and Heritage memberships to consumers which by contract allowed them access to all of Life Time's club facilities without restriction or limitation as to the particular location. The Complaint alleges that at some point in time after those memberships were sold, Life Time made the decision to reclassify clubs, create new membership classifications and restrict access to certain clubs unless the Founders, Legacy or Heritage member paid for an "upgrade," which in some cases involved a surcharge up to $90 per month. The class action lawsuit seeks increased access rights for these members as well as other relief.
