Cody Blades is an associate at Zimmerman Reed and is a member of the Public Client & AG Practice. She has experience in all aspects of the litigation process including client intake, discovery, motion practice, and trial. Bringing a distinguished research background combined with her knowledge of the law affords Cody the tools to litigate effectively on behalf of her clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Cody gained substantial experience at another Minneapolis law firm drafting and arguing various motions in state and federal court and second-chaired five jury trials to solidify four favorable jury verdicts. Cody served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable John R. Rodenberg on the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
Cody graduated magna cum laude from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 2014. In law school, Cody was on the Dean’s List every semester through graduation. She also received the CALI award, which means she earned the highest grade in the class, in Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, and Tax. Cody was an Associate Editor of the Hamline Law Review her second year of law school and served on the Law Review’s Board of Editors during her final year. Cody also participated in the McGee Civil Rights Moot Court competition in 2014. She is admitted to the state courts of Minnesota and the U.S. District Courts for the District of Minnesota. Cody was selected to Rising Star of Law list in 2018 and 2019.
