Karen is a senior, certified paralegal at our Minneapolis office, assisting attorneys in a variety of cases but concentrating most of her time on securities fraud litigation. She has dedicated 12 years to Zimmerman Reed and is an integral part of the team representing clients affected by the burdens of financial fraud. Most recently, she was a part of the team that helped to achieve a $62.5 million settlement for the City of Farmington Hills’ pension fund; an amount among the largest recoveries achieved in a securities lending class action stemming from the 2008 financial crisis.
Currently Karen is busy performing research, drafting and administering court filings and discovery, and managing deadlines for the St. Jude Medical and Medtronic PSLRA securities fraud cases. She also oversees state and federal procedural requirements and rules to ensure compliance for court submissions and assists as needed with our Public and AG practice.
After receiving a B.A. in English and Psychology from Gustavus Adolphus College, Karen earned a Paralegal Certificate from the Minnesota Paralegal Institute. She subsequently completed a voluntary paralegal certification examination, making her one of fifty-one Certified Paralegals (C.P.) in Minnesota. Karen is also a member of the National Association of Legal Assistants. Prior to joining ZR, she worked for two years as a Case Assistant at another Minneapolis law firm.
