Sabine is a paralegal in our Scottsdale office, assisting attorneys in litigating consumer fraud claims, product liability, and sports law, specifically on our Volkswagen Diesel Scheme, Syngenta Corn litigation, and NHL concussion cases. Sabine brings over 20 years of trial experience to the Zimmerman Reed team, having handled over 50 trials in a multitude of State and Federal Jurisdictions.
Sabine was born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands to a famous Dutch political and legal family and was raised in diplomatic circles in Washington, D.C. After graduating from the National Cathedral School for Girls, Sabine attended the University of Leiden Law School in Leiden, the Netherlands. Upon her return to the United States, she received her Bachelors of Arts, majoring in English Honors from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Sabine is a member of the Paralegal Association, NALA.
Sabine’s paralegal career began during the height of tobacco litigation and she quickly learned the ins and outs of Commercial Product Liability litigation from her mentor, a seasoned multi-state and jurisdiction trial attorney. After 4 years, Sabine headed west and worked for a number of California firms in the areas of Product Liability, Securities Law, Commercial Litigation, and Insurance Defense. During this period, Sabine gained exceptional knowledge of California State and Federal Civil Procedure, and fine-tuned her trial experience and became an ESI discovery master. Her extensive trial experience led to an opportunity with the Houston based firm in their Minneapolis office working with their Intellectual Property department. Sabine excelled in document database management and created the Ringtail Protocol Litigation Database. Once in Arizona, Sabine solidified her status as a premier senior level trial paralegal known for her astute pre-trial preparations and sophisticated electronic presentations at trial in the area of Commercial, Insurance Defense, IP and Anti-trust litigation. Sabine has extensive experience administering Ringtail, Concordance, Summation and Relativity document management systems and utilizes Sanction and Trial Director presentation software at trial.
Sabine’s family background of human rights advocacy has translated into animal rights advocacy. As a former board member of the Phoenix Animal Care Coalition (PACC911), Sabine and husband Jeff formed the Duke King Animal Rescue League, helping homeless and displaced Labs and GSDs find new forever homes. Sabine is a member of the Washington Cathedral in Washington, D.C.; All Saints Episcopal Church in Beverly Hills, CA; as well as Trinity Cathedral in Phoenix, AZ. Sabine also enjoys sailing on the Chesapeake Bay and on Martha’s Vineyard in her free time.
