Equifax Data Breach Affects 143 Million Consumers Nationwide

More than 143 million U.S. consumers’ personal and financial information, including social security numbers, may have been compromised by an Equifax data breach. Equifax is one of three credit reporting companies tracking the financial and credit history of consumers. Equifax has known about the breach since July, but did not disclose it to the public until September.
