Prior to joining Zimmerman Reed, Jim had extensive experience practicing law in Arizona and Colorado. Jim has broad trial experience, and his complex litigation practice has included litigation involving medical devices, pharmaceutical products, tobacco, consumer fraud, and environmental issues.
Jim has extensive experience in complex litigation, including representation of several Arizona municipalities in the Gila River General Stream Adjudication, one of the largest single civil actions ever brought in the United States. As lead counsel for several municipalities, he developed legal strategies, directed an interdisciplinary research team, and prepared project budgets and projections. Jim has lectured and spoken on Arizona water law and the Gila River General Stream Adjudication. He has been a member of the Environmental and Natural Resources Section, State Bar of Arizona, since 1989.
Jim has been part of the discovery team on the Stryker MDL, playing an important role in preparing those cases for trial and settlement.
